Plan your visit to Gemini Springs Park in DeBary, FL. A 212-acre Volusia County park with twin spring vents, 4 miles of trails, a 4.5-acre dog park, kayak launch to the St. Johns, primitive camping, and excellent birding. Note: swimming is not permitted.

Gemini Springs is named for its twin spring vents — two separate boils feeding a spring-fed lake in a 212-acre county park in DeBary, between Orlando and Daytona. You cannot swim here (that policy has been in place for years), but what you can do is walk four miles of nature trails through old-growth live oaks and cypress, launch a kayak into a 13-mile blueway connecting to Lake Monroe and the St. Johns River, let your dog run off-leash in a 4.5-acre fenced dog park, and watch wading birds from one of the best birding sites in Volusia County.

It is also the southern trailhead of the Spring-to-Spring Trail — a planned 26-mile multi-use path connecting DeLeon Springs to Gemini Springs, with nearly 15 miles already complete.

Tips for Families

  • No swimming. This is a nature-viewing, trail-walking, kayaking, and dog-park spring — not a swim destination. For swimming, combine with Blue Spring State Park (12 miles north for manatees) or De Leon Springs (20 miles north for the pancake mill).
  • The dog park is excellent. 4.5 acres, fenced, wash stations. One of the best in Volusia County.
  • Kayak the 13-mile blueway to the St. Johns for a memorable half-day paddle.
  • Birding is best early morning. Wading birds concentrate at the spring-fed lake.
  • Camping reservations required — call 386-736-5953.

Last verified: May 28, 2026. Swimming has been prohibited at Gemini Springs until further notice. Verify current park policies at volusia.org or call 386-736-5953.
